FAQ Index

Q: How do I contact Bali?

A: You can contact Bali by phone, fax or email. Visit our contact page for our full details.

Q: What are the differences between used, refurbished, and remanufactured workstations?

A: Used workstations are supplied to the client on an "as-is" basis — nothing has been done to improve their condition other than basic cleaning.

Refurbishing refers to a partial process of renewing workstations with new paint and fabrics. No bodywork is performed, and existing worksurfaces are untouched. All the original dents and dings remain visible. Better than "as-is" in appearance, but not comparable to new.

Remanufacturing entails a full and complete teardown of every removable component. Extensive preparation work is performed on all metal components — repairing surface imperfections such as dents, bends and holes, plus internal mechanisms like locks, slides, bearings and hinges. After the basic work, all metal components are sanded and prepped for final painting with a custom-blended aerospace-grade UV-inhibited exterior paint. Worksurfaces are either made new by Bali to OEM specifications or re-laminated. All panels receive top-grade fabric from the same suppliers the OEMs use — the next best thing to brand new, but without the high price.

Q: Can you match our existing furniture?

A: Yes, both wood furniture and workstations can be flawlessly matched.

Q: How does the price of remanufacturing compare to buying new?

A: Our everyday pricing on in-stock components is over 60% less than the original list price.

Q: How long does it take from order to installation of typical workstations?

A: Most in-stock orders ship in less than 10 business days. Custom orders requiring special fabric or laminates take a little longer. Custom casegoods built to your specifications average three to five weeks, depending on the size of the order.

Q: Can I get any configuration, or am I stuck with whatever is "in stock"?

A: Bali maintains an inventory sufficient to build over 500 Steelcase workstations in virtually any configuration. Even if your needs go beyond the standard specifications allowed by the original manufacturer, Bali can custom tailor solutions to your exact requirements.

Q: Is there a warranty included?

A: All furniture remanufactured by Bali has a one-year on-site parts, labour and installation warranty included. No fine print, no surprises.

Q: If we purchase furniture from Bali, will you buy our old stuff?

A: In many cases, Bali offers purchasers a credit based on the current value of the furnishings to be replaced. We also offer a credit bank for clients whose needs are continually evolving during multi-phase projects, and we have engineered a number of unique solutions involving Bali as a logistics provider for the large-scale disposition of assets.

Q: Can we purchase your products through our local new furniture dealer?

A: Yes, provided that Bali retains ownership of the product until the dealer has paid Bali in full. In practice, we price our products so aggressively that there simply isn't much room for a dealer's traditional markup — we prefer to pass the savings directly to our customers.

Q: Does Bali source specific items for clients with unique needs?

A: Yes. We always have new stock rolling in, so we encourage our clients to tell us what their future needs might be in order to source the appropriate furniture in a timely fashion.

Q: Can Bali duplicate wood furniture based on a photo from somebody else's catalogue?

A: In fact, we go one step further by customizing the furniture to your exact requirements while keeping the price below the original catalogue list price.
